What is your past experience with The Woodlands? PDF Print E-mail

I served on the WCA Board of Directors for eight years, and recently lost re-election as the Panther Creek Village Association representative. Prior to that, I was the Panther Creek Village Association president. In my opinion, my loss in the election demonstrates the power of the commercial entity in our community.

When I first moved to The Woodlands 20 years ago, this was a hometown community; but that has since changed in many ways. I am looking to put The Woodlands on a map – both literally and figuratively. I believe that what is behind this commercial entity is control, control of your assets.

Previously, the WCA has been governed by a community-conscious Board. Those individuals, myself included, asked questions, sought better answers, and budgeted your dollars to receive the best value possible. In light of all this planning and judicious spending, our association owns – free and clear – a multi-million dollar building which derives income from the other associations and has a cash reserve. As a member of the WCA Board of Directors, I wanted every penny to go back to the residents of the WCA, not to cover the debts of the TWA or as a gift to the newly designated Township. The Township was designated to operate under its own funding and taxing revenue.

Aside from serving on the WCA Board and as PCVA President, I have been actively involved on many committees on that board, the Chamber of Commerce Mobility Committee, in the bi-annual Flea Market, and with the South County July 4th celebration. These events are what make our hometown so special, and why I am looking to carry those traditions as well as continued superior standards for our community as we move forward.
